Class Change Summaries
The following are changes that influence how various classes may act on a daily basis.
Wizards
- only available to elves, half-elves, and blooded humans
- must take the Ritual Magic feat
- may not cast rituals using the Religion or Heal skills
- may take a feat to be able to cast rituals with the Religion skill
- May prepare up to the caster’s level in rituals that can then be cast as a standard action. Preparation takes 1 hour per level of spell memorized, and memorized spells are retained until cast, dropped in favor of a new memorized spell, or forcibly erased. Preparing components for quick casting is part of the memorization process, and components are only used up when the ritual is cast.
- the Alchemy feat is not available
Magicians
- this is a wizard variant available only to those who cannot be wizards
- may use any wizard level 1-3 power
- may only use level 4-30 wizard powers if they have the illusion keyword or deal psychic damage
- any target making a saving throw against an illusion or psychic effect cast by a magician does so at a -2 penalty
- may cast any level 1-3 ritual
- may only cast level 4-30 rituals that create illusions or divinations
- magicians suffer no skill restrictions on their rituals
Avengers
- may only be played by elves
- use Primal as their power source, not Divine
Clerics
- Clerics receive additional powers as they progress in level.
- must take the Ritual Magic feat
- may not cast rituals using the Arcane skills
- may take a feat to be able to cast rituals with the Arcane skill
- May prepare up to the caster’s level in rituals that can then be cast as a standard action. Preparation takes 1 hour per level of spell memorized, and memorized spells are retained until cast, dropped in favor of a new memorized spell, or forcibly erased. Preparing components for quick casting is part of the memorization process, and components are only used up when the ritual is cast.
